A company specialised in the production of juices, extracts, flavourings and essences for the food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and savoury snack industries; and much more. This is G.M.C Mariani: a powerhouse of energy that has combined tradition and research in order to develop the best solutions since 1910.
G. Mariani & C. was born in 1910 in Brescia out of the passion of Giovanni Mariani, an expert and lover of the virtues of medicinal herbs and aromatic plants. Over the years, Giovanni researched intensively, experimenting and producing various types of extracts, juices, flavourings and essences, rapidly establishing himself amongst the most qualified producers in the field.
Giovanni’s son, Mario Mariani, followed in his father’s footsteps: in 1975 he gave the company new impetus, increasing production, and transferring the business to a new facility in Cellatica. The new systems and modern equipment in which he invested allow for the production of a wide range of products, from liqueurs to soft drinks, from food manufacturing to confectionery: thus, in a short space of time, Mario succeeded in acquiring greater market shares.
In 2003, a new facility was built beside the existing one, bringing the total covered area to 8,500 square metres out of an available 20,000 square metres.
Considering the brilliant results achieved, the type of customer base, the growing importance of the flavour industry and a solid financial structure, in 2006 the Mariani family decided to transform the G. Mariani business from a limited liability company into a public liability company.
Between 2008 and 2010, the building housing the offices and laboratories was renovated, which today covers 600 square metres and boasts new and sophisticated equipment.
In 2015, a further warehouse was built, bringing the total covered area to over 12,500 square metres and allowing for the reorganisation of certain production departments.
